2DEE: 'Different Freestyle'
Title: '2DEE: Controversy Freestyle'
Role: Director, Cinematographer, Editor
Year: 2022

On behalf of D6ix Records, 2DEE made four freestyles for the month of February to March. These covers were recorded and produced in Mandatory Music in London, United Kingdom. This is the third freestyle to be released.

As the videographer of this project, I worked closely with the artist, 2DEE, to discuss the meaning and story behind his freestyles, which would help me better understand how he wanted to present these freestyles visually.

For each video we made, we wanted to be unique and have a different aesthetic depending on the freestyle we used. The aesthetic of each video would help compliment the message and vibe that the freestyle is portraying.

2DEE describes himself, this freestyle strays from his comfort zone as this was the more experimental beat he chose. This beat gave a very 'retro' vibe and we wanted the same aesthetic portrayed in the video. So we decided to put a black and white filter to create a very 'film noir' environment which matches the retro beat. We then added white scribbles and drawings to visually capture the audience and each drawing is signified by the lyrics rapped throughout the video.
