OON x Lotus Land: OON Live 2021/2022

'OON London' 2021 hosted a live event for 8 different artists, both consisting of OON and Lotus Land, to perform their songs live. These performances would be promoted and posted on all of OON's social media pages such as Instagram, Youtube and their website.

What makes this project unique, is that under one studio, we have produced and filmed 24 different live performances each with a unique set design and build, tailored to the artist and the song they would perform.

This project took place within 2 days, meaning that 12 live performances would be filmed every single day. This was an ambitious, yet rewarding project. I had the honour of being the 1st Assistant Camera throughout all these different videos.

Currently, 7 of these performances have been posted and OON will continue to release each performance in due time.

Brisk Timos is a Nepali Rapper based in London UK.

For his "Busy Man" live performance, the set is based on his Nepali background and heritage. He also showcases his 'busy' lifestyle in this performance with gambling, drinking, smoking and studio sessions.

These elements give us an insight into his lifestyle as a Nepali rapper and set the scene with the establishing shots of the glasses, gambling chips and smoking which compliments the monotone and personal message of this track.

Offline is a Nepali Rapper based in London UK.

The set for his live performance "Nepalese Man" is based on the portrayal of his 'gangster' lifestyle in which he was brought up in both Nepal and London.

The set design, having a mix of the Nepali banners, the car and his 'gang' represents the lifestyle he wants to encapture his audience with, which is very reminiscent of UK drill music. The shots are tighter and have more movement to try and encapture the hype and fast pace of his song.

Mezzo is a rapper, guitarist and producer based in London UK.

With his deep voice and his atmospheric instrumental mixes, he wanted his song "Beast" to be reflected through an abstract environment to fully indulge his audience when watching his performance.

The camera movement and shots become more vigorous and tighter towards him as the song continues to progress and get faster and more intense. He is building hype with his music and we believe that close and fast-pacing shots would complement his performance.

Sfromwest is a rapper, producer and engineer based in London UK.

The song he performs "Sade" is much different from his regular style as he combines garage and grime.

The set design was inspired by how 'technical' the song sounded, hence the neon blue lighting. We wanted to fully capture the set, whilst keeping up with his energy, so we took a good mix of both close and wide-angle shots to fully capture the neon environment and reflect the energy of the song through our shots.

Jinju Uncia is a Swiss-French Korean singer, composer, author and visual artist based in London UK.

She combines indie soul, poetry and electro music to make her masterpiece "B.O.Y".

As this song is much more abstract, she wanted to keep the set simple, but visually attractive. The extras in the background are meant to represent the lingering thoughts in her head whilst she is in the middle, shrouded by her thoughts and clouded from her judgement. We used much tighter shots to make the song more personal and intimate with the viewer.

Slow King is a Spanish singer and producer based in London UK.

He focuses on beats and chord progressions making him very fond of drum n bass, hip hop and neo-soul. This is presented in his song "Escandalo".

The song is a sarcastic piece (lyrically) and mostly shows off the chord progression and vibe of his character. He wants to emphasise that despite certain aspects of his life not going well, he is willing to joke and still find humour in his life despite the hardships it comes with it.

He wanted the set to represent himself as a person, growing up in Ipswich and missing the small town he wanted to scatter the stage with plants to recreate that 'comforting' and zen environment, much like his environment in Ipswich. We made sure to capture this environment with our shots to make the audience truly embrace the environment whilst listing to his music.

Kristie Killick is a singer based in London UK.

She uses music as an outlet to tell personal stories and share her bitter-sweet life experiences of love, broken systems and perseverance. One of those songs is "Paper People".

The song is about the negativity surrounding a couple's controversial love, filled with difficult events whilst dealing with people whispering gossip.

As she is telling a story, she wanted to create a more 'cozy' and intimate environment as it makes the audience feel more indulged in the story of her song. We use close-up shots to create that personal connection to Kristie and the audience with a slow range of motion to make it feel more relaxed and intimate.
